Haven’t posted in a while, it’s been a little busy–everyone’s getting organized.
Our booth # has yet to be confirmed by Bread & Butter; but we do know that we’ll in the same showroom area with Akomplice, Boom Bap, American College, Federation, Justin Hustlin, K1X, Manhattan Portage, Maui & Sons, Panuu, Radii, Rocksmith, Sawa, Staple and T-Level.
It’s always limiting when you’re showing overseas, so we’ve had to employ contractors, plus freight everything in advance to Berlin. We’ve had some things specially made up for the show, they’ll be completed late or cutting it close so will have to be hand-carried. A 20kg luggage allowance per/ person to Europe just isn’t going to cut it lol–but we love traveling to the U.S.A., their 46kg luggage allowance per/ person rocks! (for getting there, and coming back with all your shopping, which in the last trip included artworks, clothing, half-a-dozen pairs of shoes, and vintage glass domes).
All our agents and distributors are amped, it’s going to be a good show…
Should eventually start thinking about threads and kicks as well–its going to be a looong trip, we’ll be away for a month. So better pack smart–and helps that it’ll be summer in Europe. I hate doing hotel laundry/ ironing while I’m away, so I always pack more than I need–oh and just occurred to me, along with Cassius Eyewear, this will be a great opportunity to get some young, up-coming New Zealand labels in-front of international buyers. There are so many that I like and I’ve already had my eye on a few things this year so will be buying those before flying out, including Blokink, Lost Wreckless Measures and Yours. Brian’s also just given me some Obey, one of my favorite labels.
(Lol I also plan on dropping some dollars while I am there; on my list are Apple iPad, Lylan Bib-Waistcoat by Dexter Wong for TopMan, New Balance 576 “France“, and anything by British menswear designers, Christopher Shannon and J.W. Anderson–love their work).
In the meantime, our back-order of CORBU Edition X will be arriving at the end of this month. I know a lot of stores have sold-out and have been waiting to re-stock in (#CX001) Black and (#CX002) Coffee, online sales have also been going off-the-hook. Geez, hope there’ll be something left to fill European orders with when we get to Bread & Butter in July lol! Can’t wait!
Right have to keep this short, I’m on the scout for another set of wheels… European preferably.
